I'm painting an adirondak chair. I am using an exterior paint w/ primer in it already.?

I want to have my kids decorate it, too. I don't know what kind of paint to use for this. The base coat cost $16 a quart, so I'm hoping to find some little bottles at a craft store. I just don't know which kind to buy.
