Im doing a 8.8 Swap on Jeep, Need a bit of help?
Mountain Off Road Enterprises M.O.R.E. (www.mountainoffroad.com) has the bracket kit you need. A Detroit Truetrack limited slip differential for dual purpose rig or the Detroit Locker can't be beat for strictly offroad use. You may want a Super 8.8 axle system (www.superioraxle.com) when you switch to 35's as the wheel flanges on the stock axles have been known to bend. The Super 8.8 also allows you the opportunity to run 5 on 5-1/2" rims and widens the axle so you don't need spacers. The 8.8 is slightly narrower than your D35. You may have some rubbing issues. The 4.10 to 1 gear ratio is a good one for 33's. Weld the tubes into the differential housing to prevent spinning. The diff housing is cast steel and will readily take your weld. Reid Racing,Inc. (www.reidracing.biz) has conversion steering knuckles for your D30 so you can run standard Dana hubs to match the 5 on 5-1/2" pattern. Sorry, i don't know which yoke you will need. Try Googling Ford 8.8 into jeep as this is a popular swap. Good luck!
