Do foreigners in Japan give their kids Japanese names?

Say an American couple (Jane and Jack) have lived in Japan for almost a decade and have a child. Would they give their child an English name (Thomas, Alberto), a Katakana version (Tomasu, Arubato), or a completely Japanese name (Yamato, Takeshi)?
