Do i need a machine to make a loaf of Bread?

I have started baking my own breads, pastas, cakes, cookies,sodas, candies, and soon cheeses. i have come across recipes that want me to use a bread machine I am getting to the point of doing everything by hand. I do not even use an electric mixer to make whipped creme or meringues i want to keep my electric bill low. Can I make the loaf without the machine
