The recipe I use and everyone loves is 2 pint half and half, 2 can condensed milk then add whole milk to fill it rest of way up! You can experiment! The condensed milk makes it rich you can just use sugar instead if you don't want rich condensed milk flavor! You can cut down or add more to make more or less! I usually add a little and taste because that's pretty much how it will taste frozen!!

My grandma is intolerant to dairy and gluten. She's coming round tomorrow and I'm baking her a cake. It's a fat-free sponge, so the dairy doesn't matter. It's got 50g flour, but I'm using gluten free, a teaspoon of baking powder, again I'm using gluten free, but it also has 50g cornflour. I don't know whether someone on a gluten free diet can eat it or not. My mum reckons it's fine, but I'm slightly cautious. So can she eat my cake, or will she be ok if it's only that amount? Basically I have three employees, let's call them Jane, Elyse, and Donna. I'm firing Jane because she doesn't do anything at work, and isn't at all responsible. Jane is friends with Elyse. However, in the short time I've known Donna, I feel closer to her than Elyse, and I find I work better with her. Why does my lemon meringue pie always turn into a sodden mess?

I have tried two different recipes. The pastry case is perfect and when cooled I add the lemon part, which looks and tastes perfect, which is then refrigerated. I then add the meringue (stiff peaks, sugar added slowly) and the problems start after it is baked for 3 minutes to lightly brown it. It then starts to seep lemon into the pastry and I just end up with a sodden mess. I am so upset. It is for my sisters birthday and has cost quite a lot of money. I am 19, about 160 lbs., and 5 foot 7. I usually consume about ten 1oz. shots to get a buzz, beer does nothing. I woke up the next morning at about 12 and we had started drinking at 10 the previous night and I fell asleep at about 3 am according to my friends. I was feeling better than I had felt in weeks and according to one of my friends I had face-planted into some concrete bricks he had in the garden behind his house. I did not hurt myself and that was apparently the least harmful thing I had attempted, with others including fighting, running in said garden patch, drowning, and various other activities one would not try sober. So I don't know what is going on, why do I feel good, why am I not hurt, why didn't I have a hangover, and most importantly why am I still alive when my BAC should have been above .5 when a BAC of .4 would kill a normal person?

My husband's brother had a child in 2008, she is my mother and father in law's first grandchild. (I'll call her Jane) About a year later, my husband and I had our daughter. Burning Oil 2011 Subaru Forester- dealer trying to say it's normal?

2011 Forester seems to be burning about a quart of oil every few weeks. I have an appointment for the dealer to look at it but right off the bat, the service guy tried to manage my expectations by quoting page 11-9 in the manual that since it uses 0w20, it is "acceptable" (by who?) to burn 1 quart every 1, 200 miles. At $8/quart that is ridiculous on a new car (it requires full synthetic). I also think it is burning even more than that. Every time I turn around, the dip stick appears to be dry which could also hurt the motor. This seems like a serious design flaw- I don't care what they list in the manual. It is a boxer 4 cylinder (not a turbo). It is driven gently. Would it be okay to use a heavier oil or given the tolerances and engine design, could this hurt the motor? I assume a thicker oil would not burn as much. I also read that since it is a boxer motor and the pistons are on the side, on start up, it burns extra oil and it needs thinner oil so it can circulate more quickly since no oil stays in the heads- it drips down when the car is off unlike a traditional motor where much of the oil stays in the top. The lower center of gravity the boxer engine provides helps with handling but I guess there is a trade off e.g., rough starts and oil consumption.

Eggs arn't peaking! While that sounds weird, I put the cream of tartar and the eggs whites together in the mixer and that a foamy mixture that sort of held its peak when i took out the wisk. But then i added the sugar and its not making a stiff peak!! The recipe said beat it for '4 minutes or until..' Why does my urine have a blue tint?

hello a few months ago i bought a 2007 GSXR 1000 with 4k miles on it i put about 1000 on it in those months and it was time to change the oil so i bought royal purple 10w-40 motor oil and a K&N wrench on oil filter. so i changed the oil didn't run into any problems sept getting old filter off no big deal put in 3.5 quarts like manual sayed torqued the oil drain bolt and done rode it around the lot a little then checked oil it was about a half inch above the low line. so 3 days lated i went out for first ride on new oil started it up the fuel injector light came on but when i turned bike off to get manual then back on it didn't come on again i got gas went about 4 miles and when i was in a slight lean my wheel spin oil a lil i didn't think to Much of it but a few seconds after i looked back and i was leaving a huge trail of smoke i cut off the engine asap and pulled over all the oil from my engine was leaking onto the pavement at high rates the oil filter didn't look like it was falling off and the drain bolt was still there i heard no noises or noticed and Performance changes when the oil leaked out WTF happend and how Much money am i looking at to make it go away

Can I use 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil when my engine calls for 10W-30?

I'm short on cash but I know the car needs an oil change. I can get a gallon of 5W-20 or 5W-30 Castrol GTX on sale right now for $10.88 vs. the regular $30 or $40 or so I'd pay for my oil. Problem is my engine calls for 10W-30. I have a '92 Buick Regal with the great 3.8 engine. What will happen if I were to use 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil in it? I also plan on adding Lucas oil stabilizer which I always have since the engine is old and has high millage. Right now I'm using a mix of 10W-30 and 10W-40 oil with the Lucas stabilizer and even though a lot of the oil is fairly new I still want to do a proper oil and filter change. Should I just wait 3-5 weeks until I can afford the good stuff? I'm currently putting less than 100 miles on it a week but with summer coming up that will rise. Note the engine slowly eats or burns the oil (at least I think it burned 1 quart or so in 6-8 months) which is why I have the Lucas thickener in there and the current oil has at least a quart of newer 10W-40. Can using the wrong transmission fluid ruin my transmission in my Chrysler vehicle?

I have a 97 Plymouth Grand Voyager. I drive like a grandma and never had any issues with shifting (i did have a small transmission leak, but no issues with the transmission except for when I first found the leak - it wouldn't shift into drive or reverse - but didn't move it out of the driveway!). 2 days ago, my bf topped off my transmission fluid for me, and I didn't even think to check and see if it was the special kind for Chrysler's. After he topped it off (he used approx 1 quart) I drove for about 30 minutes and suddenly my van stopped shifting properly. I got off the highway and after stopping at a stop sign it wouldn't move, so I gassed it and it slammed into gear - I couldn't get it to go faster than about 20 mph. I managed to get pulled off the road, however I tried to drive it in a parking lot and the same thing kept happening (reverse and drive both take at least 15 secs to do into gear unless I gas it and "slam" it into gear). I am going to look into it and see what kind of fluid was used, but if it was the wrong fluid, can it be fixed by draining the fluid and adding new? or is the transmission a done deal? I can't afford another car right now, so anything I can try would be great! Thanks

I would definitely suggest The Hunchback of Notre Dame since we seem to enjoy the same classics. It's way better and completely different then the Disney film and I think the ending is more human and less happily ever after. I can't compliment that book enough.

You could put your cake in a plastic storage bin surrounded by plastic tupperware containers filled with ice. Put the lid on the bin to keep it nice and cool. If you put your homemade cooler in a place where it won't be disturbed, none of the containers should come in contact with the cake. I would probably still put that foil loosely on top- would create even more insulation.

Synthetic oil is completely uniform, it has no variance in molecule size if I remember correctly. Synthetic performs better in extremes of hot and cold, but makes little difference during "normal" use around town. As you're somewhere very hot, the syn. will do you better, although you should be changing it at the recommended intervals and not 3000 miles as that's just a waste of money.

It doesn't sound to me like you have diabetes, because if you did you would defiantly know that something was wrong. Since your young if you did have diabetes, it would more than likely be Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes back in 2006 and I had barley turned 20. The symptoms that I experienced were: thirst - I drank 6-10 two liters a day, hunger- I would eat about 9 large meals a day and snack in between. I would feel very hungry and thirsty, but throw up my food because my stomach was so full (& I had unknown high blood sugar). I was exhausted all of the time.. I would walk a few steps and I had to catch my breath, like I just ran a mile. Another symptom for me was weight loss. The more carbs I ate- the more weight I lost. Eh, I just keep adding cocoa until I get the color I want, then I put in the rest of the powdered sugar. Maybe half a cup or so. I've never done the Wilton class, but that always works for me. Since you're doing black, there's no reason you can't use real butter instead of shortening (blech) and butter flavor (extra blech). Honestly, butter doesn't add *that* much color to buttercream. I use butter for my whites too.
